Religious leaders under the Acholi Religious Peace Initiative-ARLPI want government to allow Joseph Kony, the leader of the Lord Resistance Army rebel to seek asylum in another country.

They also want government to release Thomas Kwoyelo and Ceaser Acellam, both former LRA commanders.

The leaders urge that this would be the best way to end the conflict and it negative impact in the region. McLeod baker Ochola, the retired Bishop of Kitgum dioceses and founder member of the Acholi Regligious Peace Initiative said Kony should be granted asylum in another country to allow the children still in captivity to return home.

He further stated that hunting down kony will not work but granting asylum will show that he is free.
