Embracing the shot to kill policy seems to be taking new trend as a man only identified as Ekanyu Walter 25, was shot dead yesterday at midnight as he attempted to rob Atyam and brothers limited, the regional sale agent for Nile breweries where he was working as a casual laborer.

Okello Jasper, a security guard with Blue Fox after sensing danger took cover and immediately called in his boos who later called on police to boost man power at the scene of the event.

Jimmy Patrick okema, Police spokesperson for Aswa region says Ekanyu, a carpenter from Bweyale, Kiryandongo district who had been hired less than a month ago, cut a piece of the transparent white sheet to get access into the ware house where he met stiff resistance from security operatives who after failing to contain him for possible arrest left him dead on spot.

Okema cautioned employers to get sufficient information about intending employee before hiring them to incidences of hiring criminals. Ekanyus was found with a knife, plier, a cutter and a rope which police say he used to climb the wall to the roof level.

This is the first crime of its kind where a suspect has been left dead in the region.
