Child theft cases on the rise in Northern Uganda

The question of child protection is every mother’s responsibility but this may not be the case to the life of 2 weeks old baby only identified as Ogenrwot who was stolen yesterday from St Mary’s hospital lacor under unclear circumstances.


Two unsuspecting women pretending to be nurses too advantage with the cleaning of the hospital and took away my baby as I went to shower, Aceng Narrate


David Otema, the Oc lacor hospital said police swung in action to rescue the kid but to no avail. By press time no arrest had been made and the kid is still at large. This is the secod worst case of child theft in the hospital following the disappearance of  a two month old baby, Openy Eric from Coroom village, Amuru district but was only found murdered in cold blood 100 metres from their home.


According to Jimmy Patrick Okema, the regional police spokesperson, a suspected couple has been arrested pending investigations.
