Looking all over the web everyday you see all kinds of stories, good and bad. I saw this story on YardBarker. Michael Vick was seen at Petsmart with a dog, taking dog training lessons. Are you kidding me, what idiot thought this was a good idea? A convicted dog killer, running illegal dog fighting contests, and spent time in prison for his conviction. Most people would say, "well, he served his time," and that is true, but the animals he was responsible for killing are still dead.

Animal abuse is at an epidemic level. Just around here this week one dog was found hanging by a leash off a dumpster and someone tied up a dog with duct tape on his mouth and taped his front and back legs as well. It's time to crack down on these people, they need to be sent to jail for a very long time; at least 10 years per offense. Animals cannot defend themselves most of the time. People who leave their dogs outside in the winter with no shelter or food in the middle of winter or similar conditions in the summer deserve the same punishment. I know people would say, well, these are just animals, so what? What right do we have to abuse any animals? Animal abuse leads to other abuses, most often against children.

I was being generous with what punishment should be given. I would take these poor excuses for human beings and drag them out in the middle of the street and shoot them in the back of the head.

So giving Vick another dog is like giving a pedophile another chance to be a babysitter. So would you let Michael Vick watch your dog?
